Sickle Cell and TCD

This course is designed to introduce Sickle Cell (SC) and Transcranial Doppler (TCD), the history of how TCD began in SC, and how to perform TCD in pediatric SC to health care providers. This course includes a 40-minute webinar with a 10-question quiz. Upon completion of the quiz with a passing grade of 80% or better, 1 CME certificate through the Society for Vascular Ultrasound is provided.

• Highlighting the necessary information health care providers need to perform TCD in pediatric Sickle Cell.
• Reviewing the history of Sickle Cell and how TCD began in Sickle Cell, the cerebral anatomy, how to perform TCD in SC pediatric patients, and common protocols used for performing TCD in pediatric SC.
• Outlining the diagnostic criteria of TCD in Sickle Cell.
• Describing the pitfalls and tips and tricks to TCD in pediatric Sickle Cell Disease.
  Including Sickle Cell treatment methods of what was used previously and what is used today.
